16 weeks postpartum
It has been a beautiful, tiering 16 weeks that I am so excited to have the opportunity to share this beautiful- but tiering journey with you all, so let’s get into it. Here is my 16 weeks postpartum update.
16 WEEKS & COUNTING
ABOUT week 16
I cannot believe I have a 16 week old.
Like sis. It was literally yesterday that I was writing the 12 week update. #Wild!
We have had so many exciting advancement and changes and I thought it would be good to write a #MEGTribe post giving you tea on what to expect at your 16 week postpartum mark, and if you’re not pregnant, then this is just your daily update on my life.

I was so milestone driven. I think like most new moms, I was worried that Alína wouldn’t reach her milestone, and if she did, I was worried on when she would reach those milestones. Well friends, after 17 weeks of having my pudding, I’ve realized that milestones are guidelines that assist us in having a rough understanding of what to expect.

It was becoming a problem sis.. I IIVed on the "what to expect" blog..
Alína's milestones
Anyway, luckily, I’ve brought my obsession to a healthy medium and feel super accomplished that Alína has been reaching all the suggested milestones and more. She is officially giggling and I am definitely getting an idea of her personality. Not only is she a natural ball of energy but she lives for a good cuddle, being outside and reading an interactive book.
Everyone who has met Alína has always said that she is cute mix of me and Chris but lately i’ve actually seen it. Alína is growing into a hybrid of the both of us. She sleeps and smiles exactly like her dad but loves being outside in nature like her mommy.
As time is passing I am slowly learning how to nurture all of the strong and beautiful characteristics in her. But let me be honest, I’ve also seen a few traits in her that may need taming as she gets older, like her fiery Aries ways, but, I digress.
Lets Talk c section recovery
We are finally feeling more like ourselves sis! It’s the most flattering thing for people to talk about how quickly I have bounced back but trust and believe I still have ways to go.
Diet Change
With the changes in my body, my heart has had the desire to change my diet and I need your help.16 weeks postpartum I have had an endless pulling to shift what I’m eating and finally practice making food my medicine.
So what does that mean?
I am cutting all meat from my diet and unnatural sugars. Living in Knoxville I have no idea how I will ever enjoy a fast meal again but I am determined to stick to this lifestyle change and follow a calling to reset my tastebud- I’ll let you know how it goes.
My 16 Week Awakening
These past few weeks, heading into the middle of the 4 month mark and while obsessing over milestones,I began to think about the desires I have for Alína, like her diet. With her appetite growing and her weight gain, it’s almost time for Alína to go to solid food, and one of my awakenings was my decision to not introduce her to meat, especially if me and her dad will be cutting meat out.
Now before you meat lovers judge me, think for one minute what your body would feel like if it never digested meat. Consider the effects it would have had on your health, your mind and your physical appearance.
I hate that it is almost normalized to eat whatever you want but as soon as you get sick, one of the first things people attempt to do, regardless of the illness or disease, is change their diet. I want to give Alína the chance to enjoy food that benefits her body, and grow an appreciation for wanting to preserve the life of animal.
More importantly, in supporting a lifestyle of preservation of animals, I wanted to get involved in a long term collaboration with a non profit to hopefully serve and start a family legacy of serving Mother Earth and all that God has provided.
That leads us to talk about my current venture.I am currently working to narrow down a list of non profits that fit my values and passions and so far I think I know which non profit I would love to build a legacy with…#StayTunedAsWeFineTune.
Needless to say that the thought of Alína eating solids led to a list of desires that I wanted for our family, and I’m loving every bullet point on that list.

16 Weeks Milestones...
She loves understands the word "cheese" when the camera is out. She's always ready to give big smile. I couldn't have asked for a happier baby. I'll keep you updated with when the full on giggling begins.
So Far we've had a lot of half giggles. I'll let you know when the full on laughing begins.
Attempting to sit up. Alína legit believes she is strong enough to sit up with no support and so far she's sat up for 4minutes with no support.
#GoAlīna
Teething! Alína will put anything in her mouth that her hands can grab. Teething mode has welcomed her with open arms and she goes through at least 2 bibs a day! At 16 weeks, my washer and drier is always going!
Dribble city is what I call Alína's laundry. Teething comes with a bit of fussiness and bunch of dribbling!
Final thoughts.
Postpartum is full of a world wind of emotions but they don’t have to get the better of you. Remember to take days out for your self care so you can be an amazing mom, and boss career woman that you are.
Love,
