Knoxville is one of those towns that really does offer something for everyone. Major cliché I know, but after four years of living here, I’ve come to learn that there are multiple benefits that helped make pregnancy a little more adventurous and less mundane, even during a pandemic.
Whether you’re on a road trip through Tennessee or never planning to consider Tennessee as a destination. This post is dedicated to you mommy.Â
After nine months of being pregnant during a pandemic I was longing for a way to get out be safe but still have fun. Living in a town where this was an option was such a blessing. Covid-19 hit Tennessee hard. And while it was a worry for most states and people, living in Knoxville during a pandemic came with a few benefits that most places didn’t have.
Although it was hard to cut It down, here are a list of 3 things you can do in Tennessee no matter what stage of pregnancy you’re in.
1. Views Upon Views
No matter what time of year, Knoxville is surrounded with a beauty like no other. The mountains are by far a perfect location for a picnic and an opportunity to take time out to reflect, take pictures, or just enjoy a great view.
Depending on how far you are in your pregnancy, and your current fitness levels, hiking is a great option for enjoying the outdoors.
But if you’re slightly further along or not wanting to hike, there are also some great driving options that allows you to enjoy an incredible view of nature.
The greatest thing about Knoxville is the option to enjoy the great outdoors, especially during a pandemic.
Not only can you enjoy your family and friends, but you can do it safely without having to worry about the potential of getting sick.
As mentioned before, there are multiple trails in Knoxville available no matter what stage in pregnancy you’re in, there are gorgeous trails surrounding the city that gives you the opportunity to get out and enjoy the stunning weather that this “Scruffy City” provides.
2. The Beautiful Lakes & Rivers
Nothing beats a day on the Tennessee Rivers. From Concord to Lakeshore Park, Knoxville has beautiful scenic views of its Lakes that allows you and a few other guests to join and explore it in whatever way you want.
With opportunities to rent boats, or kayaks, there are multiple locations you can go to unwind during your pregnancy in Knoxville.
Similar to Knoxville’s beautiful lakes, there are multiple opportunities to enjoy the beautiful Spring, Summer & Fall weather, on the river.
Whether you want to stroke a paddle, cast a fishing line or just lazy down the beautiful mountain streams, consider this your heaven of pregnancy relaxation & bliss!
3. A Haven For Foodies
Small business galore! In most of the surrounding areas in Knoxville there are some great places to eat, but nothing beats the downtown local experience.
With multiple great choices, beautiful patios and options to enjoy live music, downtown offers a vast cuisine for all its visits- especially its pregnant ones.
One of the benefits I personally enjoy about working downtown is the option to enjoy dining in multiple locations while having the chance to have lunch and desert in two separate restaurants because of everything being in walking distance.
As a Londoner, there is nothing like a good stroll, on a beautiful day, and with accessible parking options, it doesn’t matter what stage of pregnancy you’re in, you have the option to choose just how far you walk or drive to enjoy a good meal.
