self-care birthday vacation

I did the wildest thing. I booked a 4 day vacation to Jamaica for my 31st birthday. Oh, and I forgot to mention that this is a solo trip *INSERT ANXIETY HERE*.

After having a baby something deeply shifted for me, and I’ve been blessed to welcome a rebirth of who I am. In saying that, I haven’t left Alina’s side since she’s been born. I’ve had no idea how. But I’m aware that in order to understand and welcome this new woman I need time to reset, realign and rest. As nervous as I am, my encouraging husband has been a rock behind pushing me to take this trip and he will stay behind and look after Alina.

Get you a husband that encourages ur reset.

Self-care through service

From the beginning of this year, I’ve felt a call to serve. I wasn’t sure in what capacity that was but one of the things I felt drawn to do was go to a off-the-grid resort that would offer relaxation but the opportunity to get out in the community and serve, and ya’ll somehow, everything I wanted in a resort (for this trip), I’ve found in the location I will be staying in.

my adventures will include

Community Serving

One of the most exciting things about my trip is the opportunity to give back to a country that i love

Sunrise & Sunset Meditation

I can't wait to use my mornings and evenings to express gratitude to God for the opportunity to have started and ended

Writing Groups

My resort is a wellness center that also offers writing workshops:). If anything will keep me distracted from missing Lina & Chris it's this!

My international travel-solo prep

Preparing all of Alina's Essentials

I'm over a month out from my 4 day Mommy vaca but in my mind, its never too early to prepare. I've already started the process of gathering her stuff together for Chris and creating a daily routine list.

Giving alina the space to have fun without me

*Deepbreaths*- This is a hard one. I know Alina will be okay without me, but in order to make sure this transition of mummy not being home, isn't too hard on her. Alina has been learning to enjoy play time without mummy. Which makes me sad but I know its necessary...

Mental preparation

Leaving Alina more often in the week and trusting her with someone other than myself for more than 5 hours lol. This will help mentally prepare me for a longer period of time without her.
