There’s something magical about the moment you say “yes” to yourself.
Welcome to The Wellness Within Series—a heartfelt collection of reflections, insights, and intentional stories from women who are walking boldly into their next season. This series is rooted in soul care, storytelling, and the serene beauty of Bali, where our upcoming retreat will be more than just a trip—it will be a turning point.
As we prepare to step onto sacred land, connect with ancient culture, and embrace the rhythms of rest and renewal, we’ll be spotlighting some of the incredible voices that are helping guide this journey. These are women who have turned pain into power, and travel into therapy.
In this first feature, we’re honored to introduce you to Takiya. A storyteller. A purpose pusher. A woman who doesn’t just travel—she transforms through every experience. Keep reading to see why her presence in Bali will be a soul-shifting experience for every woman attending.

Meet Takiya: The Purpose-Pusher Facilitating - Making Travel Your Lifestyle
There’s something deeply magnetic about Takiya. Her presence is warm, real, and refreshingly unfiltered—so when she speaks, you lean in. As we get ready for our transformative Bali retreat, we’re thrilled to announce that Takiya will be one of our featured facilitators. She’s a traveler, healer, truth-teller, and woman who has made intentional living her lifestyle. In this post, we’re pulling back the curtain on who she is and why her voice is such a powerful addition to this retreat.
Let’s hear it, in her own words.

The Wisdom of Putting Yourself First
When asked about the most meaningful lesson she’s gained through travel, Takiya didn’t hesitate:
“Do it for you. Whatever your ‘why,’ let you be at the center of that.”
She continued with a powerful metaphor:
“It’s like that lesson we learn on the airplane when the flight attendant tells you in case of emergency, put your mask on first. That’s the first law of preservation—take care of self first. Because if you blackout and pass out, now nobody’s good. Help yourself first. That’s what I’ve learned. Traveling became therapy for me. It evolved into healing. And I’d tell every woman, let yourself be at the center of it.”
Takiya reminds us that self-preservation isn’t selfish—it’s sacred. Her travels have taught her that making herself a priority opens doors to peace, purpose, and presence.
🧘🏽♀️ Self-Care + Adventure: Her Balance Formula
We asked Takiya how she balances the thrill of travel with intentional self-care. Her response?
| “Traveling is self-care to me.”
Whether it’s scheduling a massage, facial, or indulging in a sauna session, Takiya has made self-care part of her travel DNA. But she doesn’t stop there.
| “Even if there’s no spa, I tap into local sources—sound healing, hiking, walking meditations—something. And the adventure? That’s giving myself something to look forward to. When life isn’t lying, I’m traveling every month or every other month. It’s therapy. It’s my liberation. I come back recharged, with a fresh outlook, ready to go again.”
Takiya shows us that joy is found both in the journey and in the moments we carve out for ourselves along the way.
🌿 Why She’s Facilitating the Bali Retreat
Takiya lights up when she talks about leading this retreat:
“I am ecstatic. I’m a purpose pusher. I love pouring into women and pulling out their gifts. I do that through transparency and authenticity. No fluff. No façade. Just me. I believe our stories inspire the people they’re meant to.”
Takiya’s not just showing up to talk. She’s here to connect, guide, and spark transformation.
“I believe in dialogue, not monologue. I invite people to open up, to share, to see themselves in each other. That’s how we build community. That’s how we empower. And I can’t wait to do that in Bali.”
🌍 Why She Travels—and How She Makes It Happen
Takiya doesn’t travel to impress. She travels to expand.
| My why is me. I don’t do it for anyone else. It’s my escape, my getaway. And my how? I plan for it. I used to wait until I had the time or the money, until the kids were grown… but that waiting turned into missing out. So now, I plan my travel the year before. I make space for flexibility, but I book it and I go.”
She tells the story of a fellow mom who once said she didn’t know when she’d travel again. Takiya responded with wisdom that we’re still holding on to:
| “There’s a difference between making time and taking time. Making means you shift things around. Taking is a forceful act. You take what you need. I don’t make time to travel anymore—I take it. Because my mental health demands it. And I stop at nothing to get what I need.”
I am overwhelmed with excitement!
Takiya’s words are more than reflections—they’re invitations. To reclaim space. To say yes to yourself. To travel with intention and return home fuller than when you left.
At this retreat, Takiya will help guide you through healing, storytelling, and self-discovery. She’ll push you to put you at the center. And you’ll leave knowing that the life you crave? It’s already waiting for you—on the other side of taking your time
