There’s a certain kind of magic that happens when movement meets intention — and Aya embodies this harmony effortlessly. A self-taught dancer with a deep-rooted love for gymnastics and a spirit shaped by nature’s rhythm, Aya’s journey into wellness is as heartfelt as it is healing.

Meet Aya, owner of dai wellness, our rising morning faciltator
From somersaulting through school hallways to finding solace in sound and breath, her path has always been led by creative expression. As the lead facilitator for our Day Wellness experience in Bali, Aya draws from her personal story of navigating compound grief and rediscovering herself through movement, music, and mindfulness.
Her approach is immersive, multi-sensory, and deeply personal — intentionally blending dance, breathwork, and grounding rituals to create a space where transformation begins within. By prioritizing calm, release, and core-centered strength, Aya invites each participant to connect with what healing looks like for them — not based on expectations or traditions, but from a place of inner truth.
In this interview, we get to know Aya — the vibrant force behind one of our most experiential retreat sessions — and how her story continues to shape safe, soulful spaces for women to breathe, move, and come back home to themselves.
You’ve worked with both adults and children in yoga—what’s one lesson from teaching kids that you carry into your work with grownups?

"Truth that often slips through the cracks of adulthood: we are human.."
For Aya, teaching children has been one of the most enlightening experiences of her wellness journey. Kids, she shares, are wildly imaginative, innately fearless, and deeply resilient — qualities that often get dulled as we grow older and absorb the pressures of the world around us.
In their presence, Aya is reminded of a truth that often slips through the cracks of adulthood: we are human, and we deserve to explore and hold onto a certain sense of innocence. While grownups tend to move with fear shaped by past experiences, children live more instinctively. They’re less weighed down by overthinking and more in tune with their bodies and inner cues — whether they’re striking a yoga pose or simply existing in play.
Aya brings that energy into every adult session she leads, encouraging her students to return to that childlike state of curiosity, freedom, and self-trust. As she reflects, “We have life lessons to teach them, but they teach us how to move through the world with a little more lightness — sometimes better than we teach ourselves.”
Using sound to work alongside healing the body.
Sound healing, for Aya, is a deeply intuitive and ever-evolving experience — no two sessions are exactly the same. “Whether it’s your first or your twentieth sound bath,” she says, “each one brings something different forward.” She encourages attendees to arrive with an open heart and a steady breath, reminding them to allow whatever rises to come without judgment.
Aya sets the tone before each session by inviting presence: “Just breathe deeply and allow yourself to be here — that’s where the work begins.” The vibrations may stir raw emotions or bring on an unexpected wave of peace, but one thing is certain: the healing continues even after the bowls go silent. She always suggests journaling both before and after to track what shifts. “I’m constantly in awe of the effects,” she shares. “There’s a phenomena in sound healing that you can’t always name — but you feel it, deeply.”
Leaving a Legacy Of Wellness, Inspired By Her Family & Heart For Community
Aya’s dedication to lifelong learning in wellness stems from a deep-rooted calling to care for her family’s physical, mental, spiritual, and nutritional well-being. From understanding the complexity of food and environmental intolerances to closely observing how the body responds, her journey has always been deeply personal. She became the guide her family needed—especially for her late husband and adult son—when no existing agency or program could fully support them. This led her to create Dai Wellness: an inclusive, alternative space for holistic healing. Looking ahead, Aya envisions Dai Wellness expanding into commercial aquaponics, guided mental balancing, and education on bodily awareness. Her long-term goal includes developing apprenticeships that empower young people with alternative pathways to wellness and community impact, with the hope of eventually growing Dai Wellness into a franchise. As the morning facilitator at our Bali retreat, Aya brings this vision and wisdom into every session.
