Happy Earth Day Friends!
For those who don’t know, Earth day is one of my favorite unconventional holidays of the year! Maybe it’s the deep-rooted hippie in me or the love of Ital but every year for Earth Day, for the past 4 years I’ve tried to be intentional about how I celebrate it.
Now before we get into the good stuff, let me start by explaining what Earth Day is.Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide
Last year, because Alina was only a week and a half old, Earth Day was celebrated while recovering from a C Section, meaning Earth day was a dud. Alina is now a year old and I’m ready to give her an insight into what will hopefully become a tradition of Earth Day celebrations! Since y’all are my tribe what better way to welcome Earth Day than with some tips on making sure your first or hundredth Earth Day, is family-friendly and full of cool experiences, no matter your child’s age is.

Earth Day Reading For Kids
Starting your day: Alina is one, the first thing I did was buy her a cool baby-friendly book about the Earth and helped her repeat keywords in the book that related to Earth Day. Whether it was a flower or the sky, I would point out specific things that we could look at later that day to help bring the book to life.
Print and Play
I love designing characters or creating outlines of gardens or very colorful objects that Alina can color in. Below I’ve added a PNG that is specifically Earth Day friendly #YourWelcome. Get it printed and enjoy a moment of free play and colors with your little one, explain what the earth is (even if they don’t comprehend it yet, it’s always good to start young).
Get outside
Get out and enjoy the earth! This is a great time to help activate all of your little one's senses. “What can you hear? I can hear birds” What can you see? I can see the grass?” Call and repeats are my favorite because of how much I’ve seen Alina learn from them, and now that she’s a toddler and always in imitation mode, this was a fun way to get her brain going.
Happy Earth day
